NEW DELHI, India— November 2, 2026 — Softaken Software has rolled out an update that lets its software run on Windows, Mac and Linux computers. The company’s tools handle email migration, data recovery, backup and file management. Mac and Linux users can now use them without needing a Windows machine.
Softaken has been making these tools for more than ten years, and for most of that time Windows was the main platform. That left a gap. Someone on a Mac who needed to convert a PST file, or an IT admin on Linux who had to move a set of mailboxes, often had to find a spare Windows computer first. The update is meant to close that gap.
The tools work the same way on each system. Everything is processed offline on the user’s own computer, so mailbox data stays with the user. Conversions keep the folder structure, attachments and message formatting as they were in the original file. Supported formats include PST, OST, MBOX, EML and MSG, and the catalog also covers recovery of damaged email and database files, mailbox backup and restore, and contact transfer.
The company lists more than 150 solutions, and its customers are spread across over 100 countries. Its enterprise email migration product is also part of the update, so IT teams that manage company mailboxes can use it on whichever operating system their staff work with.
“A lot of workplaces run more than one operating system now,” said a Product Manager at Softaken Software. “We kept hearing from users who had the data but not the right computer for the tool. This update is our answer to that.”
